curriculum & Materials

Our curriculum is aligned with materials and standards from:
  • Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) ODNR provides the state-approved boating education framework. An ODNR Watercraft Officer participates as a guest trainer on the first day of every class, offering students real-world insight into Ohio boating laws and safe operating practices.
  • National Safe Boating Council (NSBC) NSBC sets national safety guidelines that shape our hands-on training and instructional approach.
  • U.S. Coast Guard Our instructional methods reflect Coast Guard–recognized safety practices, and all captains hold U.S. Coast Guard credentials.
  • National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) NASBLA establishes national content standards for boating education, which guide our course materials and testing.

Our programs follow the Ohio Boat Operator’s Guide and the U.S. Safe Boating Course, ensuring students learn exactly what the state requires for responsible boating.
